Laser hair removal uses a combination of heat and energy to destroy the hair follicle without harming the skin around it. The LightPod Neo laser offers patients a uniquely pain-free and gentle way to get rid of any unwanted hair. Most patients who have been treated by other lasers say that being treated with the LightPod Neo is much gentler and more pleasant. Our ND-Yag laser treats all skin types, including Asian, Indian, and African-American. During laser hair removal, the hair must be in its growing phase in order to be successfully destroyed. To ensure that all hair is effectively removed during the growing phase, you will receive a series of treatments spaced 2-3 weeks apart. This will successfully ensure maximum results. Hair removal packages of 3 or more have specific requirements for optimal results. To achieve 70-80% hair reduction, a 2-3 week frequency of appointments must be met. This means you need to keep your scheduled appointments. If you need to cancel an appointment, your next appointment must be scheduled within in 1 week. Once treatment begins you have 4 months to complete all sessions. If protocol is not followed, you will void or forfeit your package/coupon.
Recommendations: "READY TO LASER" hair length should be after 1-2 days of not shaving. Clients need to have a realistic expectation from the results of hair removal, and understand that if the hair follicle is too light and not enough melanin (blonde or gray) the laser may not detect these hair follicles. Because our hair grows in different stages, it is recommend to have any where from 4-6 treatments for best results of hair removal. Patients who are sunburned should wait until the burn subsides. Herpes Simplex (fever blisters) can be activated by the laser, especially the upper lip. Patients still can be treated, however you will need to be started on an antiviral medication such as Valtrex for three days prior to treatment. Our medical director can prescribe Valtrex for you, or you can go to your family doctor. It should also be known that women who have recently delivered a child,(within 24 months) may not respond well to hair removal due to hormone levels.
